Terms of Service

Last Updated: January 2, 2026

By booking a Knockout visit with Punch List Handyman, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Service Definition

The Knockout List™ is a one-visit, time-based handyman service. You select either:

  • Half-Day Knockout™: 3–4 hours of work ($495)
  • Full-Day Knockout™: 6–8 hours of work ($895)

We arrive with tools, skills, and a plan to knock out as many items from your list as time allows. The service is flat-rate based on time, not per task.

Scope Boundaries

Not all home repairs fit within a Knockout visit. Our service is designed for:

  • Small to medium handyman tasks
  • Items that can be completed (or significantly advanced) within the time block
  • Work that doesn't require specialized licenses or permits

For a detailed list of what fits and what doesn't, please review our What Fits page.

We reserve the right to refuse work that falls outside our scope, requires a licensed professional (electrician, plumber, HVAC, structural engineer), or poses safety concerns.

Time Blocks & Prioritization

During your booking, you'll provide a list of tasks. We'll work through them in order of priority, starting with the most important items.

  • Tasks may be flagged if they exceed the time available or fall outside our scope. We'll communicate this before or during the visit.
  • Not all items may be completed within the time block. If we run out of time, incomplete items can be scheduled for a future visit.
  • We do not guarantee completion of every task on your list—only that we'll maximize the time block efficiently.

Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a successful Knockout visit, you agree to:

  • Provide access: Someone 18+ must be home to grant entry and answer questions, or provide secure lockbox/code access.
  • Supply materials: You are responsible for purchasing and having all materials, fixtures, and hardware on-site before the visit. We bring tools, not materials.
  • Secure pets: Ensure pets are secured or crated during the visit to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Utilities: Confirm that power, water, and other necessary utilities are functional in work areas.
  • Clear work areas: Remove clutter or personal items from spaces where we'll be working.

If these conditions are not met, we may need to reschedule, and standard cancellation/rescheduling policies will apply.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of booking to reserve your Knockout visit. We accept credit/debit cards through our secure payment processor.

  • Payment covers the time block, not specific tasks or materials.
  • Materials and supplies are your responsibility and are not included in the service fee.
  • No refunds are provided for tasks that cannot be completed due to scope, time, or customer-provided materials.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

By you:

  • 48+ hours notice: Full refund or free rescheduling.
  • Less than 48 hours notice: No refund; rescheduling subject to availability and a rebooking fee.
  • No-show/day-of cancellation: No refund; forfeit of service fee.

By us:

  • If we need to reschedule due to emergency, weather, or other circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or priority rescheduling.

Safety & Refusal of Work

Your safety and ours is paramount. We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse unsafe work: Including tasks with structural concerns, live electrical hazards, or dangerous conditions.
  • Stop work if conditions change: Such as discovering mold, asbestos, lead paint, or other hazardous materials.
  • Decline out-of-scope tasks: That require licensing, permits, or specialized expertise.

If work is refused for safety reasons, you will not be charged for time not worked, but no refund is provided for the booked time block.

Workmanship & Limitations

We take pride in our work and strive for quality results. However:

  • Workmanship guarantee: If you're unsatisfied with completed work, contact us within 7 days. We'll review and, if warranted, return to correct the issue at no charge.
  • Pre-existing conditions: We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, code violations, or underlying issues (e.g., old wiring, hidden leaks, structural problems).
  • Materials: We are not responsible for defects in customer-provided materials or hardware.
  • Accidental damage: We carry general liability insurance. In the unlikely event of accidental damage caused by our work, we'll work with you to resolve it fairly.

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for your service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
